Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio and Guadalupe Valley marked 50 years of helping families achieve homeownership by dedicating 15 new homes at a recent ceremony.

One of those homes, 海角社区鈥檚 19th sponsored build in the Pope Leo Village neighborhood on San Antonio鈥檚 East Side, was awarded to first-time homeowner Sabrina Villegas. Construction began on January 31, with the Villegas family working side by side with 海角社区 volunteers each Saturday for more than four months. From framing to the final piece of sod, approximately 183 volunteers contributed more than 1,000 hours to bring the home to life.

This effort reflects 海角社区鈥檚 culture of caring and the strength of teamwork, as employees came together to support a family and invest in the community we call home.

Over the past 50 years, Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio and Guadalupe Valley has built more than 1,500 homes locally, helping thousands of recipients like the Villegas family live out the organization鈥檚 goal to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Thank you to all the 海角社区 volunteers, family members, and friends who contributed their time and effort to make this opportunity possible for the Villegas family. 鈥
